Linkurious Days recap: Accelerating time to value for enhanced contextual decision making
In December 2024, we hosted Linkurious Days in London and brought together dozens of visionary customers, partners, graph enthusiasts and tech experts around one main topic: graphs. The event provided an opportunity to explore the growing impact of graph analytics across various sectors, from uncovering complex fraud schemes to transforming decision-making processes.
The day was filled with insightful presentations, real-world case studies, and live demonstrations of Linkurious technology in action. In this article, we share the key takeaways from the event, highlighting the innovations and practical applications discussed by experts in the graph technology field.
With more than 10,000 users around the world, we gave a spotlight to some of the visionaries who have been pioneering the use of graph technology in their domain. They have successfully managed to transform the way their organizations harness data to find answers to the most challenging questions and solve real world problems.
In the presentation “Modernizing AML/CTF practices with state-of-the-art graph technology,” Alejandro Rivas Vega, a Consumer FIU Analyst at Ria discussed how the company has transformed anti-money laundering (AML) compliance by reducing investigation times and enhancing regulatory reporting with advanced graph analysis.
Similarly, Alexander Wallace, Threat lab Technology Lead at Lloyds Bank, spoke about “Mitigating cybersecurity risks with graph-based threat modeling,” explaining how the bank uses graph-based threat modeling to strengthen cybersecurity, map vulnerabilities, and optimize defense strategies.
Finally, in the presentation “Transforming data insights through graph technology,” a UK Government department explained how it has leveraged graph tools to turn unstructured data into actionable insights, streamlining analysis and decision-making to fight more efficiently against fraud.
On top of insightful customer stories, Linkurious Days London featured subject matter experts from technology partners to explore trending topics and deep dive into the ins and outs of Decision Intelligence, Entity Resolution and unstructured data management.
Aptitude Global is a consulting company with deep experience in the financial industry and around knowledge graph projects. Aptitude’s presentation tackled the topic of decision intelligence. Alan Brown, Aptitude Global’s CTO, discussed the concept of entity resolution and how to tackle the challenges of Decision Modelling, Data Integration & Data Quality, Entity Resolution, Data Model Standardisation, Graph Analytics, Visualisation & AI.
Key Takeaways:
- Decision intelligence is critical to go from a siloed view to a deep understanding of context and drive better decisions
- Graph analytics and entity resolution are critical to build an accurate 360° view of people, companies, products and their context
- Decision intelligence has applications in anti-financial crime, supply chain analytics, cyber, law enforcement and more
Senzing, a company providing a world-class entity resolution AI, was represented by Paco Nathan, a Principal Developer Relations Engineer but also a tech veteran with more than 40 years of experience and an influencer. Paco presented Senzing’s innovative approach to entity resolution, how Linkurious will partner with Senzing to provide entity resolution capabilities and covered the latest research related to knowledge graphs and NLP.
Key Takeaways:
- Senzing’s entity-centric approach helps identify duplicates across data sources
- The combination of Linkurious and Senzing helps create a more accurate knowledge graph leading to the identification of new insights
- Neural networks and LLMs are pushing the boundaries in NLP, it’s unlocking the ability to create knowledge graphs out of unstructured data
- Entity resolution and GraphRAG can improve the accuracy of NLP techniques
Nuix, a provider of investigative analytics and intelligence software, are leaders in unstructured data management. Aidan Troy, VP UK & Ireland, shared insights on Nuix’s expertise in empowering organizations to efficiently leverage their unstructured data for eDiscovery, investigations, information governance, and more.
Key takeaways:
- By some estimates, unstructured data - text documents, images, videos, instant messages, etc. - represents 93% of all data today. Many organizations underutilize such data because of the challenge and cost of working with it.
- Using meaningful applications of artificial intelligence (AI) such as Cognitive AI (with Natural Language Processing) and semantic search, Nuix AI powered software helps organizations reduce the amount of data for review while finding the most relevant documents quickly and with precision.
- Nuix demonstrated how their software reduces the time and cost of processing unstructured data, while rendering it usable for analytics via graph solutions like Linkurious.
As the cornerstone of our 2024-2025 roadmap, Linkurious Days London was the opportunity to introduce in detail our truly open, modular decision intelligence platform that combines powerful native graph technology with entity resolution AI. This new platform redefines time-to-value for contextual decision-making and provides a more flexible and cost-effective alternative to solutions such as Quantexa.
Our latest technological developments have one common denominator: Acceleration.
- Acceleration of procurement, with the launch of an integrated decision intelligence solution and expanded availability on the AWS Marketplace.
- Acceleration of deployment, via a flexible, enterprise-ready architecture as well as a one-click AWS deployment.
- Acceleration of decision-making, through cutting-edge entity resolution, an advanced no-code query builder, and graph-based data preprocessing for data enrichment or scoring.
These innovations are the result of a close collaboration with our customers and partners. And they’re setting new standards to empower data professionals, analysts, and investigators to unlock the value of connected data and solve real world problems faster with unparalleled graph powered decision intelligence technology.
To kick off Linkurious Days London, CEO Sébastien Heymann reflected on the company’s founding vision: democratizing graph analysis. Since its foundation in 2013, Linkurious has grown alongside the graph market, which has matured beyond the hype cycle and entered an era of industrialization (according to Gartner), where graphs are essential for both AI and human decision-making.
For Linkurious, this marks the beginning of a new chapter in shaping the future of decision intelligence powered by native graph technology. Whether uncovering illicit financial activities like Ria, preventing cybersecurity threats with Lloyds Bank, or aiding governments in combating sophisticated fraud in the UK, Linkurious empowers people worldwide to uncover hidden insights, make groundbreaking discoveries, make more informed decisions, and solve real-world challenges with confidence.
With a community of around 10,000 graph enthusiasts today, we are striving to be 100,000 tomorrow, continuing our mission to make graph technology accessible to all.
A huge thank you to all those who contributed to make this event possible and impactful: our customers Ria Money Transfer, Lloyds Bank and the UK Government as well as our partners Aptitude Global, Nuix and Senzing, not to mention the brilliant minds who joined us in the room to talk passionately about graphs.
